This picture is from Titian's "Spot the Ball" series and was probably painted between 1518 and 1525. Bacchus has leapt into the air to score a magnificent header and edge the ball past the flaying keeper, Aridane, whose outstretched arm can do nothing to prevent Bacchus lifting the cup yet again. Posted by Hello

Here he is at last. The eyes are red because of the flash. Posted by Hello

Tree frogs II

Tree frogs will have to wait yet another day but it will certainly be worth it.

The US National Gallery of Art says "The haunting intensity of El Gecko's reco's paintings -- resulting from their unnaturally long gecko-like figures and strong contrasts of color and light -- has invited a kind of mythmaking about his life and art

Found out that Bosch's "Seven Deadly Sins" is in El Prado. Bosch died 25 years before the birth of the next artist, whose work also appears in El Prado.

There remains recious little time today to mention tree frogs. Pity. It'll have to wait for another moment.

And here's another of Newton, getting a bit of geometry in. But did he do it in the nude. "Ooh, I always work in the nuddies, dear. I find those stockings so restricting, don't you?"  Posted by Hello

This is a bum and feet view of the Creator, contemplating his works and wondering whether he'd got it right. Posted by Hello

Today's animal: Mustela nivalis or "least weasel" I'd say it's the most weasel-like if you had to choose from an elephant, giraffe, hermit crab and a weasel. This is one I found that looked as if it may not be stuffed.  Posted by Hello

Blake and extrusion units

Enough of Blake and back to extrusion units. Wonder if he knew anything about extrusion units. Google thinks to seem not - or maybe it's me who doesn't know how to look properly.

This is me today. It may look as if I've devolved a little since the other day. Perhaps I do not have the same majesty as Tuesday but this new guise has its uses. Anonimity. Posted by Hello
